The Shopify $1 trial
Every Shopify store needs a Shopify plan to take orders. New stores currently get it for $1 a month for your first 3 months. That is Shopify’s offer, not StorePilot’s: Shopify sets it, bills it and can change it.
In the wizard’s activate step, a button opens Shopify’s own payment page for your store. You confirm the plan there, then come back and StorePilot builds your store. When the trial ends, Shopify bills the regular monthly price of the plan you are on. You can change or cancel the plan in your Shopify admin at any time.
Other costs a beginner will meet
An AI store removes the setup work. It does not make sales by itself, and selling has costs of its own. Plan for these:
- Product cost and shipping. Each order costs you the product and its delivery. Price your products so each sale covers both, plus the fees below.
- Payment processing. Shopify Payments, PayPal and other providers take a percentage and a small fixed fee on each order. The rate depends on your plan and country.
- Ads. A new store has no visitors. Most owners pay for ads on Meta, TikTok or Google, or spend time on free content instead. You choose the budget.
- Apps. Shopify apps for reviews, email or fulfilment are free or monthly. Install only what you need.
- A domain (optional). Your store starts on a free .myshopify.com address. A custom domain costs a yearly fee from Shopify or a registrar.

Are there hidden costs?
Not from StorePilot. Running any online store does cost money: Shopify's plan, payment fees on each order, the products and their shipping, and usually ads. This page lists each one so you can plan for it.
Do I need a credit card to build my store?
Not for StorePilot. Shopify asks for payment details when you activate the plan, which the wizard asks you to do before it builds your store. That is how the $1 trial starts.
