How to build a Shopify store with AI
StorePilot builds a Shopify store for you in 7 steps: claim a Shopify store, pick a niche, language and name, pick a look, choose up to 30 products, activate Shopify's plan ($1 a month for your first 3 months), let the AI build it in about 2 minutes, then take it live. StorePilot itself is free.
The 7 steps at a glance
This is the wizard at store.pagepilot.ai/app, in order. It is free: the only bill is Shopify’s plan. See exactly what StorePilot and Shopify cost.
| Step | You do | StorePilot does |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Claim your Shopify store | Sign in to Shopify, or create a free Shopify account | Sets a new Shopify store aside for you |
| 2. Pick a niche, language and name | Choose what you sell, the store’s language and its name | Suggests a name and a colour and font for the niche |
| 3. Pick a look | Choose a colour, a font pairing and rounded corners | Shows your store’s pages in the preview as you pick |
| 4. Pick your products | Keep the 30 products picked for you, or change them | Loads the niche’s products, with the first 30 selected |
| 5. Activate your Shopify plan | Confirm a plan on Shopify’s payment page | Checks with Shopify until the plan is active |
| 6. Let the AI build your store | Wait, or watch the progress | Installs the theme, writes the pages, adds the products |
| 7. Take it live | Remove Shopify’s store password | Shows you where, with a short video |
Each step, in plain words
- Step 1
Claim your Shopify store
StorePilot reserves a new Shopify store and sends you to Shopify to sign in or sign up. Shopify makes the store yours, under your own account, and sends you back to the wizard. It is a new store: StorePilot does not build into an existing one.
- Step 2
Pick a niche, language and name
Pick one of 8 niches, such as pets, beauty or tech gadgets. Picking one suggests a store name and a matching colour and font. Keep the name or type your own, and choose the language your store is written in, from 14.
- Step 3
Pick a look
Choose your store’s colour from 9, its fonts from 5 pairings, and how rounded its corners are (none, small or large). The preview beside the wizard updates with each pick, so you see the homepage before anything is built.
- Step 4
Pick your products
The step opens with 30 products from your niche already selected. Keep them, unselect some, pick others from the list, or press Random to fill the empty slots. You can preview each product’s page first. A store needs at least 1 product and takes up to 30.
- Step 5
Activate your Shopify plan
A button opens Shopify’s own payment page for your store. Shopify currently charges new stores $1 a month for your first 3 months. Confirm the plan there and come back: the wizard checks with Shopify, sees the plan is active and starts building. StorePilot does not charge for this, or for anything.
- Step 6
Let the AI build your store
This takes about 2 minutes. StorePilot sets up the theme in your look, writes your homepage and a page for each product, adds the products, and adds About Us, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Refund Policy pages to the menus. If a build fails, Try again restarts it.
- Step 7
Take it live
Shopify keeps every new store behind a password until you remove it. The last step shows you how: open your store’s settings on Shopify, turn off Private mode and click Save. Then your store is open to everyone at its .myshopify.com address.
What you still do yourself after it’s built
The wizard builds the store. Running it is still yours. These are the jobs every new Shopify owner does, whichever builder they use:
Payments
Set up Shopify Payments or another provider in your Shopify admin, with your business and bank details, so you can take orders and get paid.
Policies
Your store gets Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Refund Policy pages. Read them and add your own details: your business name, address, returns window and shipping times.
Shipping and fulfilment
Set shipping rates, and decide how orders reach customers: your own stock, a supplier, or a fulfilment app.
Domain
Your store starts on a free .myshopify.com address. Connect a custom domain in Shopify if you want one.
Marketing
A new store has no visitors. Ads, social media, email and content are up to you, and they take time and usually money.
Customer service
Answer messages, handle returns and refunds, and keep customers posted on their orders.
How to start a Shopify store without an AI builder
You can do every step yourself. Building a store by hand means:
- Create a Shopify account and pick a plan.
- Choose a theme and set its colours, fonts and layout.
- Find products, then add each one with photos, a description and a price.
- Write the homepage, About Us, Contact and policy pages, and link them in the menus.
- Set up payments and shipping, and remove the store password.

Questions
How do I build a Shopify store with AI?
Use an AI store builder such as StorePilot. You claim a Shopify store, pick a niche, a look and products, activate Shopify's plan, and the AI builds the theme, pages and products in about 2 minutes.
How do AI store builders work?
They turn a few answers into a ready store. You choose a niche, style and products; the builder sets up the theme, writes the pages and imports the products into your own Shopify store.
How long does it take to build a Shopify store?
With StorePilot, the build itself takes about 2 minutes, after a few minutes of answering the wizard. By hand it takes much longer: picking a theme, writing every page and adding each product yourself.
Do I need a Shopify account first?
No. The first step sends you to Shopify, where you sign in or create a free account. Shopify then makes the store yours. You do not need anything set up beforehand.
Can StorePilot build into my existing Shopify store?
No. StorePilot builds a new store. It always starts by claiming a fresh Shopify store. For better product pages in a store you already have, use PagePilot, a Shopify app that works inside it.
Will an AI store make sales on its own?
No. An AI builder removes the setup work, not the selling. You still need payments, shipping, marketing and customer service, and results depend on your products, prices and how you bring in visitors.
Can I change the store after it is built?
Yes. It is a normal Shopify store on your account. Edit the theme, pages, products and prices in your Shopify admin, add apps, or remove anything you do not want.
